Superior product quality
The FloUV technology is rooted in fundamental photochemistry and advanced fluid dynamics, applying precisely controlled UV-C energy to inactivate microorganisms without heat or pressure. By combining engineered hydrodynamic mixing with validated dose delivery, FloUV opens a new pathway for beverage processing—enabling continuous microbial control in high-viscosity sugar syrups, preservation of delicate electrolytes and bioactives in coconut water, and effective inactivation of vegetative cells and spore-forming organisms in plant-based milks.
This non-thermal approach preserves natural taste, functionality, and nutritional value, producing beverages that remain as close to fresh and original as scientifically possible, while meeting regulatory safety requirements.
Pasteurization Without the Power Bill
Energy consumption in FloUV UV-C processing is quantified using Electrical Energy per Order (EEO), which measures the kilowatt-hours required to achieve a 1-log microbial reduction per cubic meter of product. EEO is calculated from lamp electrical power, flow rate, and achieved log reduction, directly linking energy input to biological inactivation. This dose-based approach shows that FloUV achieves pasteurization-equivalent safety using only 1–2 kWh/m³, without thermal losses.
FloUV dramatically reduces energy use in beverage processing by replacing thermal heating and cooling with precision UV-C treatment. Energy demand is calculated based on delivered UV dose and microbial reduction, not bulk temperature change. By avoiding steam generation, heat exchangers, and cooling loops, FloUV achieves pasteurization-equivalent safety using up to 90% less energy than conventional thermal pasteurization—while preserving product quality.
